Who is Ultron?

You’ve probably seen it. The cover of the latest Entertainment Weekly donning Iron Man, Captain America and Ultron from the latest installment of Marvel’s fan favored franchise, “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”   You know, nothing big. Entertainment Weekly surely downplays the film’s significance naming it “Marvel’s Biggest Movie Ever.”   For comic aficionados, not unlike myself, this is a momentous occasion. The moment when a beloved character, in this case maniacal bionic villain, is plucked from the pages of a comic book and dropped into a live action motion picture. For those who were introduced to the Marvel universe...

First ‘Foxcatcher’ trailer is nothing short of intense

What do Channing Tatum, Steve Carrell and Mark Ruffalo all have in common? Aside from the reputable on screen careers the carry in tow, they are co-staring in the upcoming biopic, “Foxcatcher.”   Directed by Bennett Miller (“Moneyball”), “Foxcatcher” tells the true story of Olympic wrestlers Mark (Channing Tatum) and David Schultz (Mark Ruffalo) and their relationship with paranoid schizophrenic millionaire sponsor, John du Pont (Steve Carrell), which ends in murder.   The first trailer sets a dark and intense tone with a gripping final scene of Tatum’s character annihilating a mirror with his head.   It is important to note that this will be the first time audiences see Carrell step in to the role of a more complex and dramatic character. A role that audiences are not accustomed to seeing him portray. I am curious as to how the veteran comedian will fare with the transition.   Given the sizable critical praise the film received at Cannes in May, “Foxcatcher” will likely attract the Academy’s attention when Oscar season rolls around.   This Sony Picture Classics film is slated to hit theaters November 14th....

That will leave the fans of the series salivating as to who will ultimately be joining the hunky Irishman.   “True Detective” has earned multiple Emmy nominations, including lead actor nods for both Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as well as a best drama nomination for the series.   UPDATE: Taylor Kitsch of  Disney’s “John Carter, ” X-Men Origins” and NBC’s hit series “Friday Night Lights” is the second big name to be attached to the upcoming season of “True...
