Chris Evans’ ‘Snowpiercer’ to be Adapted For Television

Snowpiercer

The sleeper hit “Snowpiercer” starring Chris Evans is making its way to TV!

While many know Chris Evans for his role as Marvel’s Captain America, he had another heroic role in the film “Snowpiercer.” This film may have had a limited release but the buzz surrounding it was enough to spark the interest for a TV adaptation.

Tomorrow Studios will be leading the effort on the project with Josh Friedman (“Sarah Connor Chronicles,” “War of the Worlds”) attached to write the script. Tomorrow Studios also seemed very excited to have Josh Friedman on board.

“We are very excited to be working with Josh on this incredible story,” Adelstein said. “As such a prolific and innovative writer he is the ideal person to create a massive new world in this adaptation. This is an expansive, high-concept project and we are thrilled to be a part of reimagining it for television.”

“Snowpiercer” starred both Chris Evans and Tilda Swinton and is set in a post-apocalyptic Ice Age. The film takes place in a train that is constantly in motion and the cars are used to separate individuals based on their class and social status. Overall it was a well received film (see our review here) and TV could give “Snowpiercer” the visibility it deserves.

As of now, “Snowpiercer” does not have interest from a particular network but it is still in the very early stages having just recently been picked up by Tomorrow Studios. Tomorrow Studios is a partnership between Adelstein and ITV Studios which are responsible for such shows as ABC’s “Last Man Standing,” NBC’s “Aquarius,” and MTV’s “Teen Wolf.” I’m sure that with these shows acting as a testament to their work, the “Snowpiercer” TV series should find its footing.
