It is both a tragedy and a triumph that the ninth and final installment of Hugh Jackman as the beloved Wolverine is the superlative outing of the character.  The dark tone and gory gritty action that “Wolverine” veteran James Mangold gives James Howlett, coupled with standout performances from all of the actors, easily makes this the best film of the X-men franchise, and as some may come to say, one of the best comic book films made to date.  Why is it, then, that only as the wick of the candle burns to the end does it shine brightest?

Review: ‘Logan’ is the Bloody, R-Rated Wolverine You’ve Always Wanted!

As the synopsis states, it is 2029 and many mutants have nearly vanished. A hidden and perplexed Logan (Hugh Jackman) is in a hideout near the Mexican border and working as a driver for hire. Taking care of an ailing Professor X, who is hindered by maddening seizures. However Logan’s attempt to go away in the world and his legacy abruptly end when a mysterious woman appears with an urgent request–that Logan shepherd an extraordinary young girl to safety. Soon, the R-rated claws come out as Logan squares off against dark forces and a villain from his own past on a serious, life-altering mission and one that will set the beloved warrior on a path toward fulfilling his destiny.

The ‘Logan’ Trailer May Have Revealed BIG Wolverine Details

While the film has been shrouded in mystery, the “Logan” trailer may have revealed some huge spoilers. After reviewing the trailer multiple times, I think that the film may not be what it claims to be. The synopsis leads us to believe that Professor X has Alzheimer’s and Wolverine’s healing factor is fading. In addition we see X-23 make her debut and hints at Mr. Sinister being present. There’s definitely some truth to this but I believe some of that truth to be subjective.

‘Logan’ Trailer Stirs Cinematic Emotions With Its Score And Flow

We’ve been teased with posters and images but now the “Logan” trailer has arrived. With a Johnny Cash score it flows in a very dramatic way. In comparison to other Wolverine films, “Logan” looks to carry a much more serious tone. Patrick Stewart joins Hugh Jackman in the film reprising his role as Charles Xavier aka Professor X.
