‘Sorry To Bother You’ Is The Summer Movie We Deserve
Inventive, bizarre and a lot of fun – the official trailer for “Sorry To Bother You” featuring Lakeith Stanfield makes it the only movie to watch this summer, and we deserve it!
You. Are. Awesome.
Coming off a rapid succession of critical successes, including Donald Glover’s hit FX series “Atlanta” and Jordan Peeles’s Academy Award (for Best Original Screenplay) winning solo directorial debut “Get Out”, Lakeith Stanfield’s star-stock has rapidly risen to mainstream prominence. And, it’s indisputably awesome. Stanfield’s command of comedy and deadpan delivery has made him one of the most interesting emerging actors, and audiences, myself included, are anxiously awaiting his next project.
Well Stanfield fans, you may need a drool jar for your agape word makers, because “Sorry To Bother You” is the fully flavored Summer film you’ve been waiting for.
“In a dystopian not-too-distant future, black telemarketer Cassius Green discovers a magical key to professional success and is propelled into a macabre universe.” – Google
Coming to screen amidst a movie slate inundated with action blockbusters, “Sorry To Bother You” brings audiences a breath of fresh air. If Stanfield alone doesn’t adequately tease your cinematic sensibilities, then feast your eyes upon the star laden cast including Terry Crews, Danny Glover (“Predator 2”) and Armie Hammer (“The Lone Ranger”). Don’t we as movie audiences deserve a unique, well cast, and adventurous cinematic experience? YES!?
This also marks the feature film directorial debut of Boots Riley, yes the same Boots Riley who was a member of politically charged hip hop group, The Coup. The film already premiered to positive reviews at the Sundance Film Festival back in January. Amidst a superhero and template movie drenched playing field, “Sorry To Bother You” has all the right players and a completely unique individual at the helm. No bother at all. “Sorry To Bother You” hits theaters on July 6, 2018.
