In the first sneak peek of “Star Wars Forces of Destiny,” Disney gives us conceptual look of what’s in store for fans this summer. Many fan favorites old and new will be included in the series. Additional stories will be added to the “Star Wars” canon as Princess Leia, Rey, Ahsoka, and Jyn Erso are all mentioned to be included. Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy established the target audience being children, but I’m sure that many fans of all ages will enjoy the supplemental stories

A long time ago I remember a book that I borrowed over and over from the school library was about special effects in film. The very end had a section what the future may hold with what can be done with computers. Maybe one day Marilyn Monroe could act again in films. I hadn’t thought about that book in many years. Telluride Recap: Weekend Film Festival Kicks Off Fall Movie Season

The 43rd Telluride Film Festival kicked off Oscar season in the states and I had the pleasure and privilege to attend my second year in a row. As a diehard cinephile and lover of all things Colorado, this is the perfect film festival where I truly feel in my element. Though I wasn’t credentialed press, I watched 14 movies during the extended weekend while volunteering in one of the festival’s larger venues. I cannot recommend this enough as a way to be a part of this festival. The Telluride Film Festival, which happens every Labor Day weekend, is truly a cinematic experience. If you can get to the secluded part of southwestern part of Colorado, by all means do it! And volunteering is the most affordable way to attend.

‘Star Wars The Force Awakens’ Numbers are a Bit Insane

It was expected to do well this weekend but it’s still a bit surprising to see the numbers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Domestically the film pulled in over $238 million with some estimating around $245 million. Either way, “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens” now holds the top spot for opening weekend numbers.
