Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things’ Season 2 Adds Sean Astin And Paul Reiser
Sean Astin and Paul Reiser are heading to “stranger” territory on Netflix.
“Stranger Things” was a breakout hit for Netflix. Now with the popularity still surging, season 2 has picked up “Lord of the Rings” star Sean Astin and “Mad About You” star Paul Reiser. In addition newcomer Linnea Berthelsen will also be added to the cast list.
“Filming on Stranger Things season two is about to get rolling and Netflix has just announced three new cast members: Linnea Berthelsen, Sean Astin, and Paul Reiser.”
Sean Astin will play the role of Bob Newby. He manages the local Hawkins RadioShack and went to high school with Joyce and Hopper. His character is described as nerdy and kind-heartedc. Paul Reiser will be playing the role of Dr. Owens, a Department of Energy official in charge of cleaning up the events from season 1.
We recently interviewed Sean Astin but at the time he had no plan for joining “Stranger Things.” With a lustrous career like his, I think many fans will rejoice to find him added to the cast list.
Without spoiling too much from season 1, the monster (Demogorgon) and Eleven left a bit of a mess. The town was exposed to supernatural events and things were left a bit open-ended on where to go from there. From what we know thus far, there are still a few mysteries left to be uncovered. We also know that another girl in town is affected in some unknown way. For the fans of the series, many of you should know that Millie Bobby Brown will be returning as well. We’re expecting that she will be reprising her role as Eleven, but with “Stranger Things,” you never know what could happen.
What are your thoughts on these casting choices?
