HBO’s True Detective Season 2 trailer is finally here

True Detective

We’ve been waiting and now the “True Detective Season 2” trailer is here!

It’s been awhile since we’ve talked about True Detective because the news front has been rather quiet. Well today news is circulating because we’ve got our first look at the “True Detective Season 2” trailer. Check it out below.

The star-studded cast for “True Detective Season 2” is ridiculous. Rachel McAdams takes the lead as the prominent female actress but we don’t see much of her revealed. The other three male leads seem to have a stronger presence throughout the teaser. Colin Farrell seems to carry that reckless grunge look that we saw from Matthew McConaughey in the first season. Taylor Kitsch seems to have a slight edge to him, but carries the more handsome look that McConaughey had in the flashbacks of season 1. Vince Vaughn is the unpredictable element of this season. He’s the most typecast actor of the group and he being cast has been a questionable choice to many. Hopefully this can be a breakthrough role for him like it was for McConaughey.

While there isn’t much to see in the trailer that would lead to anything more than speculation, I do think it’s going to be difficult to be on par with the first season. The setting from the first season created an overall mysteriously, eerie tone that is going to be difficult to emulate in this season. The characters are different, the story will be different, and the setting is different. The only element that remains the same is the title, but outside of that “True Detective Season 2” is going to have to prove itself and not rely on the success of the previous season.

What do you think of this “True Detective Season 2” trailer?
