Bryan Singer recently disclosed that the X-Men film following “X-Men: Apocalypse” will be set in the 1990s. While that seemed obvious enough given the timeline of the upcoming and previous film, Singer more recently revealed that he wants to introduce an alien element. As I was hanging a few things on the walls of my new apartment, I finally started to hang up the movie posters that haven’t been on a wall since my undergrad days. The two that struck me in particular made me reflect on why I was hanging movie posters on my wall in the first place. Why do I do it? I didn’t make these movies and wasn’t a part of them in anyway shape or form (except in the distribution aspect as an audience member). The movie posters don’t necessarily “keep my dreams alive” by always being a symbol of “where I want to be” eventually. I want to soar above and beyond the movie posters hanging on my wall, so why do I allow them to take up precious wall space?

Well if you’re George Lucas and you’ve sold off the rights of Lucasfilm to Disney, you build a museum. Yes since January 2014 George Lucas has been trying to make his vision into a reality. Lucas first attempted to bring it to San Francisco before plans fell through. More recently the fight has been to bring it to Chicago. However, a dispute over the land with an activist group may have derailed plans yet again.

The news broke last night that Alden Ehrenreich has been chosen to play young Han Solo in the upcoming anthology series. The movie is slated to open in theaters May 25, 2018. It will be written by, , the writer of “The Empire Strike Back” with directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller (“21 Jump Street, The Lego Movie”) already on board. This is an accomplishment in itself because the Hollywood Reporter confirmed that 2500 actors auditioned for the role. Dave Franco, Miles Teller, and Scott Eastwood (Clint’s son) were rumored to be strongly considered.
