“Star Wars Rebels” has become strong supplemental material to the “Star Wars” universe.” Bringing back characters like Darth Maul, introducing Expanded Universe characters like Thrawn, and the latest “Rogue One” addition of Saw Gerrara has proven “Rebels” to be a vital source for fans. With the latest trailer we see another interesting dynamic added to the story. An aged Obi-Wan Kenobi makes his way into the show as he supposedly faces Darth Maul. Sadly this year’s ‘Star Wars’ Day (May the 4th) snuck up on me, despite me having an idea for a while. So you’d think that’s it. Either wait until next year or just release it late for everyone to see how late you are. However, today is May 6th as in Revenge of the Sixth. I’m counting it as a “Star Wars” Day and I’m ok with claiming this was all planned. So anyway why review this? Well I find it to be a fascinating little piece of “Star Wars” media and I like sharing that kind of stuff.

“Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi” (because I REFUSE to call it just “Star Wars The Last Jedi”) is out. Like many other fans I’m spending the time re-watching the older films in preparation. Directors Phil Lord & Christopher Miller have left their jobs as directors of the new Han Solo film. Disney has been kept us chock full of new Star Wars films. The idea was to make an anthology series to go along with the main saga. The next is a spin-off showing the origin of Han Solo. We’ve had photos and other news that seemed to indicate the production was moving along smoothly. Recently that all changed as it was announced halfway during the making of the film, they lost their directors. This isn’t terribly unusual as directors and studios part ways all the time. However, usually it happens earlier in pre-production before cameras start rolling. The fact this is happening essentially at the midpoint of production is very surprising.
