Eric’s Guide to the “Predator” Series

Well there’s really not much to say to set-up this guide through the “Predator” series. I did the “Alien” series last year and since there were so many films I held off talking about the “AVP” films so I could pump up an article about the “Predator” series. So every time I do one of these types of articles I sometimes go from best to worst or vice-versa depending on what I think best suits the topic. For this I think it would be best to just follow the release date order to see how this series has gone up and down throughout the years. Let’s begin.

“The Happytime Murders” Is Fascinatingly Unfunny

Brain Henson (son of “Muppet” creator Jim Henson) FINALLY releases his pet project “The Happytime Murders.” I say finally because I actually heard of this movie a couple of years ago on a list about films that were stuck in development hell. Now I’m a BIG Jim Henson fan and “The Muppets” in particular. I’m also a fan of his son Brian Henson who has directed a lot of Henson projects since his father’s passing. In 1988 George Lucas produced a Ron Howard directed film called “Willow” and a cult favorite was born. I can speak for myself that it is one of my most treasured of films. But why is that? Why did this film under perform when it was originally released but now has fans so dedicated? With a local theater the Naro screening it soon (June 1st) I thought it would be good to try and find out beforehand.

Eric’s Guide Through the ‘X-Men’ Series

Isn’t it weird that so much has changed in the world and film business and yet FOX’s ‘X-Men’ is still going strong. Almost 10 years ago the MCU started. At that point this wave of superhero movies had been going on for about 8 years and many were claiming it was getting ready to end. “Blade” proved that a Marvel based superhero film could work. Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” was where the genre kicked into high-gear. But it was “X-Men” building off of the success of “Blade” that truly got it started. We have a lot of movies to get through so lets get started. *SPOILER WARNING!*
