New Action-Packed ‘John Wick: Chapter 2’ Trailer Takes Keanu Reeves Abroad

John Wick has a new dog, new enemies and bigger action elements as he faces off against the entire criminal underworld for the highly-anticipated “John Wick: Chapter 2.”
The new official trailer for “John Wick: Chapter 2” provides ample fan service by showcasing all the things that made the first film so popular, but on an international scale.

The announcement of a sequel to the brutally epic yet simplistically linear Keanu Reeves lead “John Wick” has left fans with a sense of sheer excitement. With a teaser trailer that dropped back in October and the revelation that “Matrix” fellow-alum Laurence Fishburne would be starring opposite Reeves as a likely villain, the internet has been ablaze with conjecture as to what this second installment holds in-store.

Director Chad Stahelski and writer Derek Kolstad return to the sequel project, which is immediately noticeable in the trailer as the tone of the film and writing seem to pick up right were the first film left off. The trailer starts with a once-again retired John Wick being propositioned, perhaps forcefully, to take on a contract killing assignment. A house shattering explosion later, Wick finds himself abroad and faced with what seems to be the entire criminal underworld. With sizably larger action elements than the first film, the sequel is poised to provide a higher level of brutality than the previous installment.

We could not agree with you more Charon! While the trailer looks promising and it seems all the right ingredients are being added for a proper sequel, the story itself seems to be shrouded in some mystery. What we know is that John Wick is presented with an option to fight alongside a newly introduced group of assassins or to fight against them… as well as the entire international crime community. At the very least, “John Wick: Chapter 2” will give fans a “Matrix” reunion that they’ve been awaiting for the better part of two decades.
