Wwwweee'rrreee hhheeerrreee to look back at the "Poltergeist" series. "Poltergeist" is a classic and considered one of those essential horror series, despite the fact none of the sequels are considered very good. Is that warranted? Are there any gems hidden in this franchise? Probably not, but it should still be fun to look them over.

In 1960 one of if not the greatest director, Alfred Hitchcock made a film called 'Psycho.' It is said to be the first slasher film. That of course is contentious due to terms and ideas of what it means to be a slasher film. But like many of the slasher series that came afterwards "Psycho" spawned a whole series and crappy remake BEFORE it was cool. Let's go through them and see which ones to bother watching and which to skip.

Well there's really not much to say to set-up this guide through the “Predator” series. I did the “Alien” series last year and since there were so many films I held off talking about the “AVP” films so I could pump up an article about the “Predator” series. So every time I do one of these types of articles I sometimes go from best to worst or vice-versa depending on what I think best suits the topic. For this I think it would be best to just follow the release date order to see how this series has gone up and down throughout the years. Let's begin.

While it seems like a commonly accepted truth, there are those that still deny that Han Solo was the first to shoot Greedo in the “Star Wars” Mos Eisley Cantina scene. Despite what the special editions of the original trilogy show, the original cut has our favorite smuggler blasting the bounty hunter Greedo away before the Rodian can collect. But whether you are an adopter of the George Lucas re-releases or a traditionalist, the latest film “Solo: A Star Wars Story” creates a narrative in favor of the “Han Shot First” movement.

Isn't it weird that so much has changed in the world and film business and yet FOX's 'X-Men' is still going strong. Almost 10 years ago the MCU started. At that point this wave of superhero movies had been going on for about 8 years and many were claiming it was getting ready to end. "Blade" proved that a Marvel based superhero film could work. Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" was where the genre kicked into high-gear. But it was "X-Men" building off of the success of "Blade" that truly got it started. We have a lot of movies to get through so lets get started. *SPOILER WARNING!*

I've probably mentioned this before, but aside from being a film buff I am also a Christian. My family while believers were also never HUGE into it. Still I was exposed some Christian media growing up that is like a weird repressed memory at this point. Since I enjoy introducing people to obscure stuff others rarely talk about here goes nothing. I'm not going over "Bibleman," I was aware of the show as my younger cousin had some tapes and toys, but I was bit too old for that and haven't seen anything of aside from the covers.

There are few certainties in this world. One of the most prevalent is that 'The Simpsons' used to be practically perfect in every way. However, has since gone downhill. Now some of that is still open to interpretation. The public seems to agree that the golden era of the show were seasons 3 through 8. It's not hard to see where they're coming from in terms of the sheer amount of classic episodes that came out during that time. Personally I think the golden era extended a few seasons beyond that. In fact, season 9 contains my personal favorite episode “Lisa's Sax.” For me the best time for "The Simpsons" were when Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein were running the show. It had the best balance of really funny jokes with genuine emotion. They quit after the 8th season as they didn't want to overstay their welcome.

This year's Oscars carried a more progressive and satisfactory tone with many wins for overdue talent and for more unlikely candidates. New genres of film received recognition and there were a few underdogs that won as well. As with many awards shows, not everyone will be satisfied with the results, but with that said here are the winners below with a few of my thoughts.

The 4th season of “Black Mirror” just dropped on Netflix and for those that haven’t seen the show, I’d put it on your must watch list for 2018. As you may know, Black Mirror is a sci-fi anthology series that features episodes in modern society centered around ramifications of innovative technology. For many people, the first episode can be a bit too much but if you can stick with the show, it is worth it (will be talking about that in a minute). With the 4th installment, “Black Mirror” continues to bring forward incredibly complex and controversial plots. As a modern “Twilight Zone,” the series finds a nice blend of creative sci-fi plots and compelling storylines with superb acting. It is refreshing to see such original content with extreme plot twists and intriguing storytelling that can leave your jaw open questioning, “did they just go there?” Not many sci-fi shows can claim this. Before you begin watching season 4, here are my top 5 episodes from the previous 3 seasons. Disclaimer, I will do my best to not spoil any of the episodes.
