Wwwweee'rrreee hhheeerrreee to look back at the "Poltergeist" series. "Poltergeist" is a classic and considered one of those essential horror series, despite the fact none of the sequels are considered very good. Is that warranted? Are there any gems hidden in this franchise? Probably not, but it should still be fun to look them over.

In 1960 one of if not the greatest director, Alfred Hitchcock made a film called 'Psycho.' It is said to be the first slasher film. That of course is contentious due to terms and ideas of what it means to be a slasher film. But like many of the slasher series that came afterwards "Psycho" spawned a whole series and crappy remake BEFORE it was cool. Let's go through them and see which ones to bother watching and which to skip.

In 1931 “Dracula” starring Bela Lugosi started the original classic Universal Horror series of films. In the years since there had been other attempts at remakes of "Dracula". Some were great, some not but almost all of them greatly deviated from the original novel. In 1992, the timing seemed right for a big-budget, more book accurate adaptation. Who better to helm this ambitious project than the director of “The Godfather” trilogy himself, Francis Ford Coppola.

So here we are again, the “Halloween” franchise is currently so broken that to save it we must reboot the continuity. This time for an added bonus we get to bring Jamie Lee Curtis back to the role that made her famous, Laurie Strode... again. Still after “Halloween H20” did an adequate job of restarting the series it still fell apart again shortly after. So let's see if this Jamie Lee Curtis return is worth the hype and a true successor to the original John Carpenter classic.

"Halloween H20: 20 Years Later" was the first time the "Halloween" had to be revived with Jamie Lee Curtis. Now that yet another 20 years has passed and another revival with Jamie Lee Curtis is due to come out let's take a look back. Why am I not doing a "Guide Through _ Series" article for the "Halloween" franchise. Simply put I don't care.

Well there's really not much to say to set-up this guide through the “Predator” series. I did the “Alien” series last year and since there were so many films I held off talking about the “AVP” films so I could pump up an article about the “Predator” series. So every time I do one of these types of articles I sometimes go from best to worst or vice-versa depending on what I think best suits the topic. For this I think it would be best to just follow the release date order to see how this series has gone up and down throughout the years. Let's begin.

Brain Henson (son of “Muppet” creator Jim Henson) FINALLY releases his pet project “The Happytime Murders.” I say finally because I actually heard of this movie a couple of years ago on a list about films that were stuck in development hell. Now I'm a BIG Jim Henson fan and “The Muppets” in particular. I'm also a fan of his son Brian Henson who has directed a lot of Henson projects since his father's passing. He was also the voice of Jack Pumpkinhead in “Return to Oz” so the nostalgic feelings I have for him are high. Sadly it all just wasn't enough to save this film for me.

Last year I did an article like this hoping to begin a new category of articles. Well it may have taken a while, but I'm back with more trailers. For those paying attention, a little event called the San Diego Comic Con happened not too long ago. As a result we got ALL the trailers. So I thought it'd be fun to run through them all and give my own takes one them. I'll go in order of least interested to most interested, let's begin.

In 1988 George Lucas produced a Ron Howard directed film called “Willow” and a cult favorite was born. I can speak for myself that it is one of my most treasured of films. But why is that? Why did this film under perform when it was originally released but now has fans so dedicated? With a local theater the Naro screening it soon (June 1st) I thought it would be good to try and find out beforehand.

Isn't it weird that so much has changed in the world and film business and yet FOX's 'X-Men' is still going strong. Almost 10 years ago the MCU started. At that point this wave of superhero movies had been going on for about 8 years and many were claiming it was getting ready to end. "Blade" proved that a Marvel based superhero film could work. Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" was where the genre kicked into high-gear. But it was "X-Men" building off of the success of "Blade" that truly got it started. We have a lot of movies to get through so lets get started. *SPOILER WARNING!*

Sadly this year's 'Star Wars' Day (May the 4th) snuck up on me, despite me having an idea for a while. So you'd think that's it. Either wait until next year or just release it late for everyone to see how late you are. However, today is May 6th as in Revenge of the Sixth. I'm counting it as a "Star Wars" Day and I'm ok with claiming this was all planned. So anyway why review this? Well I find it to be a fascinating little piece of “Star Wars” media and I like sharing that kind of stuff.

I've probably mentioned this before, but aside from being a film buff I am also a Christian. My family while believers were also never HUGE into it. Still I was exposed some Christian media growing up that is like a weird repressed memory at this point. Since I enjoy introducing people to obscure stuff others rarely talk about here goes nothing. I'm not going over "Bibleman," I was aware of the show as my younger cousin had some tapes and toys, but I was bit too old for that and haven't seen anything of aside from the covers.

There are few certainties in this world. One of the most prevalent is that 'The Simpsons' used to be practically perfect in every way. However, has since gone downhill. Now some of that is still open to interpretation. The public seems to agree that the golden era of the show were seasons 3 through 8. It's not hard to see where they're coming from in terms of the sheer amount of classic episodes that came out during that time. Personally I think the golden era extended a few seasons beyond that. In fact, season 9 contains my personal favorite episode “Lisa's Sax.” For me the best time for "The Simpsons" were when Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein were running the show. It had the best balance of really funny jokes with genuine emotion. They quit after the 8th season as they didn't want to overstay their welcome.

I've had this idea to make a feature out of looking at a bunch of recent trailers. You may have noticed our lack of articles for each new trailer coming out, mostly due to just how many come out at once sometimes. Now in each of these specific cases I watched them at times when it wasn't possible to do a reaction video. So consider this a pilot-article so to speak. If this goes well I'll try to make sure I have a reaction video with each. For now enjoy just reading my thoughts after each trailer.

"Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi" (because I REFUSE to call it just "Star Wars The Last Jedi") is out. Like many other fans I'm spending the time re-watching the older films in preparation. This time I actually do have a legit excuse in introducing them to my girlfriend because if we can't get over this hurdle then I have serious doubts in the future of our relationship. Sorry hun. Anyway I felt it was time to go over what are my favorite moments from all the films. SPOILER ALERT! Let's begin!

Last week I talked about my favorite western while covering the work of Sergio Leone. I've wanted to talk about westerns for a long time. However, if I mentioned them all, then most of the entries would be taken up by one director's filmography. Then, there'd barely be any reason to talk about the remainder films of Leone which deserve discussion. I decided to separate them to be able to more fully discuss them all. So just remember the true number one of this list is "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" so just shift everything down and after "Unforgiven" shift everything down again to account for "A Fistful of Dollars" and "For a Few Dollars More" tying for the next spot.

Sergio Leone's name doesn't ring the same bells as other masters like Kubrick and Hitchcock, but he should! I've wanted to talk about to Westerns for some time. Although it would be a shame if most of the spots would be taken up by one filmmaker. So I figured I go over this and then tackle my other favorites after I'm done talking about Sergio Leone. A few SPOILERS ahead.

I considered doing a regular review of Pixar's "Coco," but what's the point? I mean it's Pixar! I knew it was going to be good, you all knew it was going to be good. There's a reason the Oscar for Best Animated feature is nicknamed the Pixar Prize. There are times they've won despite not even deserving it. That's a fault of most voters lack of interest/respect in the medium. However, THAT'S a whole other discussion. "Coco" is quite simply a brilliant film and another instant classic for Pixar. All the praise it's getting is deserved. But what almost always comes with praise? Backlash! For this film the main source of the backlash is the existence of an earlier film "The Book of Life."

After years of waiting patiently, fans can finally get closure with "Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie." A thing to know about me is that I am a big "Hey Arnold!" fan. I watched it all the time growing up. I did NOT like the "Hey Arnold!: The Movie" (fair warning I'll be referring/comparing this a lot throughout) that came out in the early 2000s and can see why it killed off this film for some time. Like my "Trans-Dimensional Turtles" review I think I'll need to quickly give my thoughts on the "Hey Arnold!" series first so that you can see where I'm coming from.
