Rumor: Colin Farrell to Play Constantine in ‘Justice League Dark’

Colin Farrell may be our next John Constantine!

According to rumblings in Hollywood regarding the Guillermo del Toro project “Justice League Dark,” the studios are seeking A-List actor Colin Farrell to play the role of John Constantine. While he was not del Toro’s first pick (he showed interest in Matt Ryan), del Toro’s recent state of limbo with the project has the studios eyeing Colin Farrell.

Right now the frontrunner for the part looks like Colin Farrell, who is currently shooting “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” with the studio. However, Ewan McGregor has also been approached for the same part.

With the choice between either Farrell or Ewan McGregor, I think many fans will be torn. Both actors could bring some depth to the role but I think Farrell could bring a bit more edginess to the part than McGregor. Other characters mentioned to be on the list for “Justice League Dark” are Swamp Thing (YES!), Deadman, Zatanna, and Etrigan the Demon. Guillermo del Toro did suggest Ron Perlman for the part of Swamp Thing and so far everyone seems content with that idea.

In addition to the characters mentioned, there is a possibility of “Suicide Squad’s” Cara Delevingne reprising her role of Enchantress if they plan on connecting the DC universe.

As of now, this news carries intent with plans to execute but without solid details this news is clearly speculative. Whether you’re a fan of these casting decisions or not, don’t get your hopes up yet. We all know how quickly things move in Hollywood and until the papers are signed (sometimes even after that), consider things to be up in the air for the time being.

Who would you want to see as Constantine in “Justice League Dark?” Do you think Colin Farrell would be a good choice?
