Viola Davis is Suicide Squad’s Amanda Waller

It’s not Oprah! Suicide Squad’s” Amanda Waller is Viola Davis!

While many were speculating that Oprah Winfrey would be the Suicide Squad’s leading lady, Latino Review has reported that Viola Davis has acquired the role. There have been different versions of Amanda Waller throughout the years and many had commended the more heavyset version of the character. Because of the Oprah rumor, many were expecting this version of the character but with the choice of Viola Davis, they’re obviously not going for the heavyset version.

The heavyset version of Amanda Waller

According to sources, the lovely Viola Davis (How To Get Away With Murder) has bagged the role of major DC Comics villain and Prison Warden Amanda Waller in David Ayer’s upcoming Suicide Squad. In the comics, Amanda Waller is a former congressional aide and government agent often placed in charge of the Suicide Squad, a semi-secret government-run group of former supervillains working in return for amnesty.

Oprah has done fine as an actress and proved herself as an overall success but Viola Davis is a much better choice in my opinion. The strength of her characters in films like “The Help” and “Won’t Back Down” more than prove her ability to play the role. And with her commanding presence on the television show How to Get Away with Murder, it seems like Viola Davis is practically a shoe in.

Will fans be disappointed with this version of Amanda Waller? Will Viola Davis do the character justice?
