What do YOU want to see in Battle of the Five Armies?

The final installment in “The Lord of the Rings” prequel is due out Wednesday. While it will no doubt be successful and rake in enough dough to fill the caves of Erebor, will it be fulfilling is a better question. The first two movies were entertaining and while they have their deficiencies they largely delivered in spectacle. Here is my list of the five things I would like to see in the last and final installment.

5. Less of the lovey dovey stuff

I know it is poor form to start a list of what I want with something I don’t want right off the bat but I feel like this needs to be said. Although maybe I should rephrase and say I want the romance to be better I suppose. Give us a reason why we had to endure the forced relationship in the second installment. Less would be great but making it worthwhile is what we all really want.

4. Sauron’s Rise

SAURON!

This was touched on in “The Desolation of Smaug” but there is something devastatingly evil brewing in Middle Earth. Let’s see Sauron rise and impose his power and will upon the treacherous filth and vermin of Middle Earth (his words…, I’m paraphrasing). We see the army beginning to be formed, now show us it’s true reach and power.

3. Gollum’s exile

The exile of Gollum!

The loss of the ring is a pivotal point in this Tolkien universe. Let’s see this develop and give us insight into one of the most memorable characters in cinema. Maybe I am just mean but take away Sméagol’s precious.

2. Smaug’s devastation

The devastation of Smaug

Honestly the last movie was definitely a tease. Just when you think the big baddy is about to do his worst, boom credits roll. That hurts, now I want to see Smaug annihilate in the most dragontastical way possible. We saw his desolation, poor fellow, now lets see him exact just a bit of revenge. Let the dragon do what he do.

1. The battle.

The Battle of the Five Armies

It’s not called “The Battle of the Five Armies” for no reason. Make the battle epic, make it brutal, and make it fun. Also please no barrels or rail carts because… I just can’t.

“The Battle of The Five Armies” promises an epic battle with the five armies of middle earth. I for one would like a nice tidy package that leads me to rewatching “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy all over again.

So how about you? What do you want to see in the final installment of “The Hobbit?”

Glenn: Never one for hyperbole, Glenn has seen all movies that have ever been made or will be made. This power bestowed upon him by the ancient sentient being "The Viewer" Glenn has used this power to voice his opinion to any and all that would listen. Every Superhero ends up on a team and Glenn has found his in FilmFad. Together world domination seemed imminent however after a change of heart Glenn found himself unable to use his power to critique. After being bested by FilmFad head Ryan in a homemade game of Fear Factor, Glenn agreed to join the team again on the promise that any dissenting commenters would have to battle him to the death... To date all responses have been positive. Honestly Glenn, is a guy that has watched a lot of Cinema as well as TV. He has studied screen writing and directed a few short films. Stepping into the world of online blogging is fun and offers an entirely new exciting platform to share his unique views on Film and TV.
