While I am really excited for "Star Trek: Discovery" TNG will always hold a special place in my heart. It is a show I distinctly remember my family gathering around the tv to watch together growing up. I also happen to think TNG has one of the best series finales ever. Though with a show as vast as it was it could never tie up all of the loose ends. As a result there are a lot of things I still wonder about the show. Here are my mysteries I still wonder about. I realize some (if not all) of these may have answers in the tie-in material but I really only follow the movies and shows so that's what matters to me. Let's get started.

In a recent interview on the “Colbert Report”….erghhh….I mean “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” J.J. Abrams was questioned about a more recent conversation regarding his wife. The question involved Abrams’ wife opinion on his use of lens flare in his films and her disapproval. Apparently the last straw for her was during “Star Trek: Into Darkness” when the lens flare overshadowed Alice Eve in a particularly emotional scene. After that, Abrams seems to have changed his opinion on his use of the effect.

Who would have thought a "Star Trek" director would be making a "Star Wars" film? Well that's what happened when J.J. Abrams signed on to the newest "Star Wars" film after making two Star Trek films. So in some way it's fitting to see the debut of the new "Star Trek: Beyond" trailer in front of its rival franchise, "Star Wars."
