Stephen King Thinks ‘Dark Tower’ Rumors Are True

Stephen King practically confirms the “Dark Tower” rumors we’ve been hearing.

We’ve been hearing things for quite some time regarding the film adaptation of Stephen King’s “Dark Tower.” From release dates to casting rumors including Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba, “Dark Tower” seemed more like a mechanism of speculation rather than a film we’d actually see. But when it comes to confirmation of the film actually happening, the man responsible for the source material definitely carries some clout with his opinion.

It looks to me like it’s more likely than not it’ll happen at this point.” “Let’s put it that way.”

Not only was Stephen King ready to confirm the film’s eventual release, he also believes that the casting rumors are near certainty. He thinks that both Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba will have the key roles in the film.

“I think that it’s more likely than not that Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey will be in it,” King says. “But I can’t say with any certainty. I know that they’re trying to make deals with these actors [and] with Sony, and that’s the extent of my knowledge.”

Even though Stephen King is the creator of “Dark Tower,” Hollywood is notorious for moving at their own pace and doing things that adhere to their needs and scheduling first. Will we see a “Dark Tower” film? I’m sure that we will at some point. It’s got the fanbase to get the film moving. Will McConaughey and Elba be cast in the roles? I’d say it’s likely if the studio can get things moving quickly. If they cannot then these actors may have to pass on the role because they do have to have steady work.

What do you think about Stephen King’s thoughts on “Dark Tower?”
