First Clip for Kevin Smith’s ‘Yoga Hosers’ is Here

The first clip for Kevin Smith’s “Yoga Hosers” is here!

While “Tusk” was poorly received, Kevin Smith thought a spinoff film was justified. “Yoga Hosers” follows the story of the two store clerks in “Tusk” as they team up with Inspector Guy Lapointe (Johnny Depp) to battle an “ancient evil.” Now we have our first clip to accompany the film. Take a look below.

“Yoga Hosers” will be the first major role for Kevin Smith’s daughter Harley Quinn Smith. While other cast members from “Tusk” will be returning for the film, Harley Quinn Smith and Lily-Rose Melody Depp (Johnny Depp’s daughter) will be the focus of this plot.

With this film taking a different direction than “Tusk” (or so we think), I am curious to see how cast members like Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, and Genesis Rodriguez fit into the story. My guess is that it will probably be a brief cameo from a flashback initiated by Guy Lapointe. But outside of the inclusion of the “Tusk” cast, my main concern would be whether or not this film will share the same poorly reviewed fate as “Tusk.”

“Tusk” was obviously pushing for more cult acclaim than any sort of critical acclaim. But while that push was made, it still doesn’t seem like “Tusk” will be achieving cult status anytime soon. If “Yoga Hosers” is going to succeed, then hopefully the right amount of distance from “Tusk” has been established. The plot may be different but hopefully the film can keep its connections to “Tusk” minimal. If not, this could be another failure despite what Kevin Smith says.

“Yoga Hosers” had its world premiere on January 24, 2016 at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.

Are you interested in seeing “Yoga Hosers?” Do you think it will be able to distance itself far enough from “Tusk?”
