Zoolander 2 will include Will Ferrell as Mugatu

“Todd! Are you not aware that I get farty and bloated with a foamy latte?!?!?!”

I think we can all agree that “Zoolander” was a cult comedy favorite and Will Ferrell as Mugatu could arguably be the highlight of the film. While we have known about “Zoolander 2” happening for quite some time the details of who will return have been questionable…until now. According to a recent interview with Will Ferrell over at JoBlo, Will Ferrell revealed that the infamous fashion designer Mugatu will indeed return.

We are actually supposed to do a read-through of a sequel script soon, and Mugatu is a part of it.

– Will Ferrell

Will Ferrell has been a comic icon since his premiere on “Saturday Night Live” with his incredibly animated personality that seemed to overshadow anyone who shared the stage with him. He’s definitely had some movie duds that capitalized on recycled humor from previous films and sketches, but when he’s at his best he’s unstoppable.

I love Ben Stiller and even appreciate Owen Wilson at times, but when compared to Will Ferrell it’s hard to outperform him in the realm of comedy. Zoolander and Hansel definitely had their laugh-filled moments but Mugatu’s abrupt, sassy fashionista behavior had me rolling on the floor. You always need an antagonist to counter the protagonist and when Ferrell counters, he counters with a haymaker!

Who is excited for the return of Mugatu?

Ryan: Ryan has been fascinated with film and pop culture since childhood. Throughout college he "played it safe" taking the more lucrative route of being a computer programmer while squeezing in film related courses where he could...but even during his post college career, he could never escape his true passion. After following one of his favorite blogs for a long time, he approached the site's Editor about writing and they reluctantly gave him a shot. He later became their Senior Writer which led to a variety of other projects, radio show appearances, features, and high profile celebrity interviews. Despite his success with blogging, he still wanted more so in order to expand his creative addiction, he merged his IT skills and blogging know-how to create FilmFad.com which has continued to grow into a creative Mecca of pop-culture fun and integrity.   ryan@filmfad.com    Film Fad
