Trouble For ‘Gambit’ as Fox Delays Film Even Further

Fox has pulled “Gambit” from its 2016 lineup.

Fox’s upcoming film has “Gambit” has had its fair share of trouble. From false confirmation that Channing Tatum quit to the director Rupert Wyatt leaving the film, many have had concerns with the quality of the film. Now with Fox pushing back the release date for a second time, the success of this film has come into question again.

The film may show signs of failure but with the bad news also comes some good. While “Gambit” may have an unknown release date, Fox has added two release dates for two mystery projects for both 2017 and 2018. The first date is October 6, 2017 which is almost one year after the original “Gambit” release date. The second date is January 12, 2018 which many are speculating to be the release date for “Deadpool 2” giving the timeframe for the first film and its success.

My guess is that “Gambit” is going to be pushed back by a year and that October 6, 2017 date will be the release of the film. This may mean that the film is delayed by over a year and the reason we’re not hearing about the new “Gambit” release date yet is so that the news more palatable for fans.

At this point the film may or may not be having problems but this kind of news spells trouble for any film and Fox knows that. As previously mentioned, “Gambit” has had its fair share of trouble and this is just another problem to add to the list. But as far as whether or not the film will be good or bad, we will have to leave that up to the fans to decide.
