Tom Hiddleston will star in King Kong origin film Skull Island

Tom Hiddleston just landed the starring role in King Kong origins film “Skull Island.”

We haven’t seen a “King Kong” film since 2005 and almost 10 years later, Legendary Entertainment has decided to move forward with another “King Kong” film that focuses more on the origins of King Kong. “Skull Island” will take a deeper look into the beginnings of King Kong prior to his capture and it’s just been announced that Tom Hiddleston (“The Avengers”) has been tapped as their lead actor.

Most know Tom Hiddleston as Loki from “The Avengers” but he’s actually pretty versatile as he’s been in such films as Woody Allen’s “Midnight in Paris” and Stephen Spielberg’s “War Horse.” I’m sure that his versatility is what made him a sought after actor for the starring role in “Skull Island.”

While the details of Tom Hiddleston’s role remain quiet, the plot details for the film also have yet to be released, but the film does have a slated release date of 2016. I will be surprised to see the details of the plot and what aspect they focus on before King Kong’s capture. We know that there are other human inhabitants of Skull Island but according to the plot of the last film, few have ventured to the island.

What do you think of Tom Hiddleston as the star of “Skull Island?”
