Oscar Isaac to play the villain in “X-Men: Apocalypse”

Oscar Isaac is the main villain in “X-Men: Apocalypse!”

Variety is reporting that Oscar Isaac will be playing the “titular comicbook villain” in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” While many sites are reporting that he will be playing the role of Apocalypse himself, Variety has only confirmed Isaac’s role as the “titular villain” and never said “Apocalypse.”

Oscar Isaac has closed a deal to play the titular comicbook villain in 20th Century Fox’s “X-Men: Apocalypse.”

While many speculate that Isaac’s role will be Apocalypse, we all know how Hollywood can be. Tom Hardy was recently sought after to play the role of Apocalypse and despite confirming Isaac today, Hardy has still not been unconfirmed. This is clearly speculation but without the mentioning of what role Oscar Isaac will play, there is a chance that Fox could still be seeking Tom Hardy for Apocalypse and maybe Isaac for something else. In fact, they both could be Apocalypse. Oscar Isaac could be the slimmer younger version (En Sabah Nur) and Tom Hardy could be the towering powerhouse that Nur evolves into.

Despite whatever speculation may or may not come into fruition, there’s no denying that Oscar Isaac is on the rise. With a role in “Star Wars: Episode VII” and the upcoming “Ex-Machina”, Oscar Isaac is quickly becoming a Hollywood front man.

No matter what his role may be in “X-Men: Apocalypse,” I’m sure that it will be a memorable performance given attention he’s getting from many high profile directors.

“X-Men: Apocalypse” is set for release on May 19, 2016. Do you think Oscar Isaac is definitely Apocalypse?
