Orange Is The New Black Season 5 Clip Has Daya About To Shoot A Guard

“Orange Is The New Black” Season 5 is going to start with a bang!

The fifth season of “Orange Is The New Black” left us with the unexpected death of a character that led to disarray. For the sake of those who have not caught up with the Netflix hit show, I’ll spare the details until you scroll down. But from what you see in the clip above, the death of this character is what drove the centered new mother Daya to a moment of aggression. Check out the new preview images below as well.

For those that are caught up and for those that do not care about spoilers, the death of Poussey (Samira Wiley) was a shock. As she was being held down by a guard, the guard was unaware of her being suffocated and accidentally killed her. This led to a prison riot and Daya (Dascha Polanco) acquiring a hand gun.

While many characters on the show have been known for their occasional bursts of aggression, Daya has continually followed the path of least resistance. With plans to do her time and be released, it was an unexpected turn of events to see her with the gun pointed at a guard. Based on Daya’s development thus far, I doubt we will see her become a murderer or even shoot the guard. In my opinion, the gun shot we hear at the end of this clip is nothing more than a warning shot to quiet the crowd. But with Jenji Kohan’s random trajectory in this show, anything could be possible.

Orange Is The New Black” Season 5 will premiere on Netflix June 9, 2017.
