Mila Kunis and Rob Zombie Team Up For Starz Horror Series

Mila Kunis is transcending to the producing perch, set to collab with…Rob Zombie?

Entertainment makes for odd bed fellows. Mila Kunis (“That 70s Show, Black Swan,” “Ted,” “Family Guy,” “Jupiter Ascending”) is teaming with Rob Zombie to produce “Trapped,” a half hour horror comedy series for Starz. No acting talent has been announced but Rob Zombie (“House of 1000 Corpses,” “The Devil’s Rejects,” “Halloween”) will direct.

Created and written by Joey Slamon (“Arrested Development”), “Trapped” will be set during a single night in a mansion with a wealthy family coming under attack by a murderous cult (A la “The Purge”). In addition to Mila Kunis, Orchard Farm’s Susan Curtis, Cami Curtis, and Lisa Sterbakov will also executive produce.

“We’re excited to work in partnership with Rob Zombie as well as Mila Kunis and her Orchard Farm Productions associates Susan Curtis, Cami Curtis and Lisa Sterbakov on this horror comedy series.”

Starz Managing Director Carmi Zlotnik.

Kunis has been extremely busy of late. Her company Orchard Farms Productions recently received a pilot commitment deal for another comedy, the pilot “Champion: The Jeff Beekman Story.” “Champion” will be about a hyper-competitive but perpetual underdog dad. Shot in sports documentary style, the show will feature commentary and analysis and probably its fair share of hilarity as it is being written by Michael Colton & John Aboud (“Penguins of Madagascar”).

Rob Zombie is a veteran of this genre so it will be very interesting to see what this collaboration brings about. And Mila Kunis is definitely one of the funniest voices (pun somewhat intended) in television. I think this could be a great pairing and I look forward to it. But the real question is what do you think?

So what do you think? Is “Trapped” a captivating idea and meld of talent or nah? Excited about Mila Kunis the Producer vs Mila Kunis the actor/voice talent? Looking forward to another Rob Zombie production?
