Liam Neeson wants to play Ra’s al Ghul on Arrow

“Batman Begins” Actor Liam Neeson is ready to reprise his role of Ra’s al Ghul for season 3 of Arrow!

In an interview with MTV Liam Neeson the discussion shifted to the TV series “Arrow” and the announcement of their season 3 villain Ra’s al Ghul. Given that Neeson played the part of the villainous mastermind in “Batman Begins,” they asked him if he would be willing to reprise that role for “Arrow” and his answer was quite a surprise!

“I would, in a heartbeat, if it came my way, yeah,” Neeson continued. “Very much so.”

It is extremely rare to see a successful feature film actor be willing to play a TV role but Neeson seemed more than enthusiastic about the character. While I myself would love to see him appear on a superhero series like “Arrow,” I doubt the studios would share my or his enthusiasm for him taking the role.

The show has progressively done well at establishing its independence and distancing itself from other related ventures. Due to this I think that they would choose an actor that continues that independence and reestablishes the character of Ra’s al Ghul.

Liam Neeson did have a bit of advice for the actor that will take on the role. Through Neeson’s words you can tell that Ra’s al Ghul was a role that left an impression on him.

“They have to believe in their philosophy. Ra’s al Ghul absolutely believed what he was doing was ultimately saving civilization, and it was quite a good argument he comes up with. Throughout the ages this fraternity, that brought the plague to wipe out a section of mankind because it needed to be regenerated again. Very dangerous, but you have to believe it.”

What do you all think? Would a high profile, feature film actor like Liam Neeson be a welcomed addition to the “Arrow” cast or would it be a little too much for the show? Comment below and let us know!
