Ken Jeong Weighs in on Community Movie

Can a “Community” film still happen? Hear what Chang has to say!

“Community” fans are loyal and their loyalty is one of the reasons why Community was able to beat cancellation. But despite being revived by Yahoo, “Community” may not have the momentum to meet their “six seasons and a movie” mantra. Despite the series’ questionable future, Ken Jeong’s feelings toward the show still remain strong.

If they had a seventh season, I would be begging to be on it…I will do anything ‘Community’ related. That show was so important to me and I’ve learned so much from Dan Harmon and my fellow castmates about television, and I’ve really become a better actor from that show. I’m really setting my hopes on a movie. I really think the stars are aligned to do it. I honestly haven’t heard anything official for a seventh season or a movie, but I’d want to be a part of both.

It’s a shame that a show like “Community” couldn’t gain the traction to survive. It was such a creative show but was on a downward spiral for the last few seasons. With the departure of key actors like Donald Glover and the push to a Friday time slot, the series was setup to fail. Actors like Ken Jeong and others prove that there is still something special about the show. But will the special connection people share about the show be enough to keep “Community” moving forward?

Can a movie still happen for “Community?”
