Who is this alien creature in “Guardians of the Galaxy 2?”

Today Empire got an exclusive piece of concept art for the upcoming sequel to “Guardians of the Galaxy.” While we’ve learned many revealing details about the film thus far, this image gives us a look at the random fun. While the alien creature above probably won’t have any contextual purpose, it does look like a fun battle for the Guardians. In addition check out the official synopsis below.

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

With Kurt Russell set to play Ego and Star-Lord’s father, Sylvester Stallone expected to have a role, and the highly anticipated “Awesome Mix Vol. 2” coming, we may be in store for a lot of fun with “Guardians of the Galaxy 2.” Based on these facts and the concept art above, things keep supplementing the anticipation.
