‘Downton Abbey’ Writer’s Miniseries ‘Doctor Thorne’ Gets Digital Release

“Doctor Thorne” arrives on digital HD this October!

From the mind of “Downtown Abbey” writer Julian Fellowes came “Doctor Thorne,” a four part miniseries about a family seeking to regain their fortune. For those that may have missed “Doctor Thorne,” now comes your chance to live through the tale as it makes its digital debut on October 17, 2016. Following its release on digital HD and Starz Digital will be the Anchor Bay DVD release on October 18, 2016.

“Doctor Thorne” will be available on DVD from Anchor Bay Entertainment on October 18, 2016 for the suggested retail price of $39.98 and includes all 4 episodes plus bonus features that will give viewers a behind the scenes look at this compelling series including “The Making of ‘Doctor Thorne,’” “Julian Fellowes: Adapting Anthony Trollope’s ‘Doctor Thorne,’” “Doctor Thorne’: The Gentle Hero,” “The Love Story: Mark and Frank, Lady Arabella and the Strong Women in ‘Doctor Thorne,’” and “Sir Roger and Louis Scatcherd.”

The miniseries stars Tom Hollander (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, “The Night Manager”), Rebecca Front (Planet 51, The Brothers Grimsby), Richard McCabe (Notting Hill, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World), Stefanie Martini (“Emerald City”, “Endeavour”), Harry Richardson (Looking for Grace) with Alison Brie (“Mad Men”, “Community”, How to Be Single) and Ian McShane (“American Gods,” “Ray Donovan,” Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides). Tom Hollander takes on the title role of Doctor Thorne, a man living a quiet life with his niece living in the home of the Gresham family. Unbeknownst to the doctor, the family plans to regain their lost fortune through the scheme of arranging a marriage between their son who happens to be in love with another.
