Charlize Theron Joins Vin Diesel in ‘Fast 8’

Charlize Theron joins the “Fast 8” cast as a villain!

While discussions have been going on since February, Universal finally confirmed that Charlize Theron would be joining the cast for the upcoming “Fast and Furious” film. The film will simply be titled “Fast 8” and Charlize Theron will be playing a villain in the film.

“Our crew will face its greatest adversary ever in our next film as we welcome Charlize Theron to the Fast family. 4.14.17 #F8.

With her roles as Furiosa in “Mad Max: Fury Road” and Stella in “The Italian Job,” we know that Charlize Theron is no rookie to high speed vehicles. While her persona tends to fall in line with a very upbeat, charismatic person, we’ve seen the Oscar-winning actress play a variety of roles and should have no problem falling into this franchise.

In addition to Theron, we will also see the return of Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, and even Jason Statham. The inclusion of Statham in the film should have him served to us as a villain as well. This will also be a reunion of he and Charlize Theron as they previously worked together on “The Italian Job.” Interestingly enough, if they are both playing villains, their characters may be collaborating with similar motives as well.

The film will be directed by Straight Outta Compton’s F. Gary Gray and is set for release on April 14, 2017.

What do you think of Charlize Theron joining this next “Fast and Furious” film?
