Aquaman film coming with Jason Momoa as lead

[Source: Hollywood Reporter]

Jason Momoa is Aquaman and will now be the lead in an upcoming Aquaman solo film!

Despite the obvious speculation months before the announcement, it is now official news that Jason Momoa is Aquaman. While confirmation of the obvious didn’t seem to be breaking news, the bigger news is the announcement of a solo film in the works.

Will Beall (“Gangster Squad”) and Kurt Johnstad (“300: Rise of an Empire”) have been asked by Warner Bros. to develop two separate scripts for the upcoming Aquaman film. Beall was previously courted to write a “Justice League” script but declined due to unknown reasons. Johnstad fits right into the Zack Snyder universe having written for both “300” films.

The scribes [Will Beall and Kurt Johnstad] are writing — separately — scripts for Aquaman, one of the installments in Warner Bros.’ multimovie scheme to create a cinematic universe based on the DC Entertainment characters.

From these writers you can speculate where Warner Bros. is wanting to go with the Aquaman film. “300” and “Gangster Squad” both have common elements of focal points. They have particular colors that are prominent throughout the films and both focus heavily on fighting through use of close up, slow motion panning. I’m interested to see how this will play out for the film.

Sad Face 🙁

It sounds like this deal is just about done! Time to move on Vinnie Chase, Aquaman is moving forward without you!
