Actors Line Up to Play Han Solo in the ‘Star Wars’ Spinoff

As casting preparations begin for a Han Solo spinoff, actors line up to play the part!

With the Han Solo spinoff greenlit, many actors are being eyed for the part and when I say “many” I mean MANY. There are a number of actors being specifically looked at for the part but over 2500 actors came in to audition. As heard from one agent, the process for auditioning was fairly easy with no barriers to entry.

“This has been the easiest movie to audition for,” says an agent with a client who has auditioned. “They are seeing everyone.”

While they are being open minded when it comes to casting, there were some big names that auditioned for and were sought after for the part. Dave Franco (“21 Jump Street”), Aaron Taylor Johnson (“Avengers: Age of Ultron“), and Miles Teller (“Fantastic Four (2015)“) were among few bigger names to audition. The list also included Chandler Riggs (“The Walking Dead”), Ansel Elgort (“The Fault in Our Stars”), Colton Haynes (“Arrow“), Tom Felton (“Harry Potter”), and Hunter Parrish (“Weeds”).

While there are quite a few recognizable names that have auditioned for the role, it is interesting to see that Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are exploring so many candidates for the part. We could see a big Hollywood star cast as a young Han Solo or it could very well be a lesser known actor that would leave the fanbase without any preconceived notions of what to expect. But I will say if Miles Teller is chosen for the part, I’m not sure how well fans will take it after the massive disappointment from Josh Trank’s “Fantastic Four.”

The film is set to begin filming in January 2017 for a May 25, 2018 release. This should give them plenty of time to decide on the next Han Solo.

Who do you think the next Han Solo should be?
