Zach Galifianakis and Louis CK clown show sounds ridiculously funny

[Source: Cinema Blend]

Created by Zach Galifianakis and Louis C.K., “Baskets” will be the next TV comedy picked up FX and it sounds hilarious!

Louis C.K. is already a veteran of the FX network with his Emmy winning show “Louis” but now he’s teaming up with another prominent funny man. Zach Galifianakis will star in the television comedy “Baskets” created by himself and Louis C.K. The plot revolves around a struggling clown named Chip Baskets (Galifianakis) in pursuit of his dream. Read below for the official description of the show.

In a world constrained by corporate interests and the homogenization of society, one man in Bakersfield, California dares to follow his dream of becoming a professional clown. But after an unsuccessful enrollment at a prestigious clowning school in Paris, the only job he can find is with the local rodeo. Baskets follows Chip Baskets’ (Zach Galifianakis) pursuit of his dream, against all odds, to be a respected clown.

This show has me both intrigued and bracing myself for laughter. The premise alone is enough to make me chuckle as I’m writing this! The idea of mixing a character known for ridiculous antics with the aspirations of respected stardom is intriguingly hilarious.

Sure we may see some familiar Galifianakis humor but is there anyone else who could fit better into the role of a clown? Even if Galifianakis is a turn off for some, Louis C.K.’s dark and dry humor should counter Galifianakis to create a well balanced comedy.

“Baskets” is scheduled to launch in 2016 and I can’t wait to see what comes of this fantastic collaboration!
