Star Wars: Rogue One teaser trailer LEAKED

A teaser for “Star Wars: Rogue One” has leaked!

While it may not be the best quality (hope to have a better one soon), we do get to see a nice little teaser for “Star Wars Rogue One” from the most recent Star Wars Celebration festival. The clip was provided by Dorkly and shows an amazing image of a large Death Star overshadowing a planet. Take a look for yourself at the clip below!

The expected timeline of “Star Wars Rogue One” is to be between “Star Wars Episode III” and “Star Wars Episode IV.” The film surrounds the mission that was referenced in “A New Hope” to acquire the plans to the Death Star. Those plans were later hidden in R2-D2 by Princess Leia and were the main reason why Luke Skywalker was able to destroy the Death Star. Without those plans the Rebels would have never known the weak point in the space station.

Star Wars Rogue One takes place between Episode III and IV

Gareth Edwards is set to direct “Star Wars Rogue One” and from the clip above it seems like he’s heading down the right path. I would expect this film to be a lot more soldier-driven and a lot less Jedi-driven based on the subject matter. Based on the premise and the film’s timeline between III and IV, I think “Rogue One” will be a refreshing change of pace from the force and lightsaber battles. I love a good Jedi/Sith battle, but like many other fans as well, I also have an interest in the deeper universe involving space battles and Imperial versus Rebel soldiers.

This will be the first film to follow “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and will also be the first “spin-off” we’ll see. With Jedis being so ingrained in our minds, will fans be able to enjoy a film that drifts away from the Jedi culture? I think so, and I also think this could be one of the more enjoyable films given the potential for filling the gaps in between “Episode III” and “Episode IV.”

What do you think, will this be a success for Star Wars fans?
