Matt Damon will return to play Jason Bourne again

Matt Damon will most likely return to the Bourne series!

After the last Matt Damon Bourne film, “The Bourne Ultimatum,” Director Paul Greengrass had left the franchise and Matt Damon left with him. Damon had enjoyed working with Greengrass and supported his vision so much that he had no interest in playing Jason Bourne unless Greengrass was involved, hence “The Bourne Legacy” with Jeremy Renner.

Variety reports that the stars have aligned once again as Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon are both on board for working on the franchise once more. Not only are they on board but the studio has already initiated the process of bringing the two back together for another Bourne film.

What happens with The Bourne Legacy now?

If Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass come back to the franchise, what does this mean for Tony Gilroy’s “Bourne Legacy” and Jeremy Renner? What does this mean for the future Jeremy Renner Bourne film already in development with Director Justin Lin? Will they connect the films in some way or will they be treated as separate entities?

Personally, I’m excited for this. Matt Damon was badass as Jason Bourne and I loved the trilogy. The action was raw and intense and I think that Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass work together as a strong cohesive unit. I look forward to their return!

What do you think, have the Bourne films run their course?
