‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’ Trailer Premieres On Kimmel With A Bang

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” looks bigger and badder in this brand new trailer.

The full trailer for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” made its debut on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” With a comedic introduction from Chris Pratt posing as an audience member, the jokes seemed to linger a bit too long, but it was well worth the wait. Check out the trailer below.

There is a lot going on in this trailer but still a bit of confusion in regards to the plot. We know that they are out to save the galaxy once again and joined by a few new members as well. Both Nebula and Yondu are joining the team despite having their own quarrels with the Guardians in the past. We also get to see the debut of Kurt Russel as Ego the Living Planet aka Star-Lord’s father.

The part of the trailer that had me thinking was the temple scene with all of the gold-faced individuals. Having read a lot of the “Guardians of the Galaxy” comics, I believe these people could possibly be the Universal Church of Truth. This was a collective group that worshiped Adam Warlock’s dark alter ego Magus who was the head of the church. Given that Adam Warlock has not been introduced (yet), their story may not coincide with the comics but the demeanor and purpose seems to fit the bill.

As much of the story is unknown, the film is currently led by speculation. But “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” has the potential to hold a vital role in connecting the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We may be waiting until the release date of May 5, 2017 to find out.
