Chloe Moretz as Jean Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse?

Chloe Moretz is being eyed to play the role of Jean Grey in “X-Men: Apocalypse.”

Does “Kick-Ass” star Chloe Grace Moretz have what it takes to be Jean Grey? Bryan Singer thinks so along with few other young actresses he is eyeing. According to JoBlo, Bryan Singer is eyeing Hailee Steinfeld (“True Grit”) and Elle Fanning (“Maleficent”) along with Moretz for the role. Based on the report, it seems as though Elle Fanning and Chloe Moretz are further along than Hailee Steinfeld, so I would guess they are more likely the choice.

The report says Moretz and Fanning met with Singer about Jean Grey so take that for what it’s worth. It would be a multiple movie deal as well as the characters are said to be returning for more movie fun down the line.

I’ve thought that Chloe Moretz was amazing as an actress since I saw her in “500 Days of Summer.” Since then she’s given amazing performances in “Let Me In” and “Kick-Ass” but as of late she’s been quite lackluster. Elle Fanning on the other hand is currently on the rise. While I think Moretz is more talented overall, Bryan Singer may be hoping to capitalize on Elle Fanning’s momentum for the role.

In addition to Jean Grey, Singer has also been looking at actors to play a young Cyclops. The actors currently being eyed are Ben Hardy (“EastEnders”), Charlie Rowe (“Red Band Society”), and Timothee Chalamet (“INTERSTELLAR”).

These actors are mostly newcomers so I can’t speak to their abilities since the roles I have seen them in have been brief. From strictly appearance, I would say that Charlie Rowe has the best face for the part and wearing the visor. His facial structure seems to match the best with the Cyclops costume we would expect to see.

Who are your picks for Jean Grey and Cyclops?
