Brad Bird confirms Incredibles 2 as next film

“Incredibles 2” is coming soon says Director Brad Bird!

Brad Bird‘s upcoming project Tomorrowland is right around the corner, but his announcement of highly anticipated sequel is what has people talking. Brad Bird and Pixar brought us a superhero film that still stands the test of time with “The Incredibles” and now we hear “The Incredibles 2” is Bird’s next project! According to Collider, Bird already has “a bunch of pages” written for the sequel.

“Oh yeah I have pages, a bunch of pages. I had a lot of ideas for the original Incredibles that I didn’t get a chance to use, that I like. I have ideas that I wanted to pursue a little bit and there wasn’t enough time in Incredibles. There are new ideas I have, and I think there are enough of those together to make an interesting movie. I’m just focusing on getting Tomorrowland out into the world and playing with the Incredibles sandbox again.”

Brad Bird has proven himself as a director in animated films since “The Iron Giant” and “The Incredibles” may have paved the way for the latest animated superhero film Big Hero 6. With the success of both “The Incredibles” and “Big Hero 6” it’s no surprise that “The Incredibles 2” would be in the works.

The first film had closure but ended in a place that left room for a sequel. “The Incredibles 2” should be able to explore other superheroes with the reestablishment of their acceptance in the first film. Also the superhero family dynamic could be elaborated upon with the children Dash and Violet proving themselves towards the end of the film. And let’s not forget about the infant “Jack Jack” and his odd array of super powers. With the premise of family values integrated further into the superhero dynamic, I think that “The Incredibles 2” has the potential to be even better than the first film.

Are you excited for “The Incredibles 2” coming so soon?
