Finally got a chance to see the movie. The kids loved it. A couple of things really stood out for me.

First was use of animals. On one side we have Darren Cross having no issues at all performing dangerous testing on adorable little lambs (which had much of the audience wincing a bit), as opposed to Pym and Lang seeing the ants as helpers and partners. I thought that really nailed an interesting split in how these opposing characters viewed living things.

The other that really hit was as Bobby Canavale who was great as the cop dating Scott's ex. It was so easy to want to hate that guy. We're set up in the movie to be cheering for the ex-con. So combine that with current social attitudes towards law enforcement and its so easy to see him as a bad guy. But the movie didn't go that route! They didn't have him running from danger or getting killed off so Scott can easily movie back in with his ex and Cassie. He's being a great dad. He's putting himself in harms way to protect Cassie. He doesn't run Scott down and say nasty stuff about him in front of her. The whole movie his biggest motivation is the same as Scott's, and it made it so very rewarding to see them coming together in the end.

I would say it is very kid friendly. The most vulgar moments were some light harsh language like sh*t and damn. Other than that, there are many moments that kids would have fun with.

I'm thinking of taking the kids to this. They got through Guardians of the Galaxy just fine. Anything I need to worry about taking them to this?
