Another year another new controversy has sprang up in Hollywood, should we CGI Actors? A long time ago I remember a book that I borrowed over and over from the school library was about special effects in film. The very end had a section what the future may hold with what can be done with computers. Maybe one day Marilyn Monroe could act again in films. I hadn't thought about that book in many years. Like the old saying goes, the future is now!

RIP: ‘Star Wars’ Actress Carrie Fisher Dies At Age 60

Carrie Fisher had been in intensive care since suffering a massive heart attack on December 23rd. She was aboard an 11-hour flight from London to Los Angeles when she went into cardiac arrest and was rushed to the hospital shortly after landing. While her brother Todd Fisher left us optimistic stating that she was “out of emergency” and stabilized, she unfortunately passed at 8:55 PST this morning. Spokesman for the family, Billie Lourd, Carrie Fisher’s daughter, read a statement shortly after.

When mentioning Carrie Fisher, the first thought that comes to mind is her iconic role in “Star Wars” as Princess Leia. While particularly difficult to escape that spotlight, she’s also known as a script doctor for many notable films. In the 1990s she was brought in to fix films such as “Hook,” “The Wedding Singer,” “Sister Act,” and “Lethal Weapon 3.” While not officially credited for her work, in 1992 Entertainment Weekly referred to her as “one of the most sought after doctors in town.”
