“Baywatch” is back with a comedic tone in this brand new teaser trailer!
Starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Zac Efron, “Baywatch” arrives with the first ever teaser trailer. Starting out with a similar tone to the TV series, things quickly spin into comedy. Take a look at the trailer below!
I’m sensing a very “21 Jump Street” type feel to this film. This seems to be the formula for television reboots and it’s definitely not a bad thing. When it comes to “Baywatch,” many of the TV series elements are a bit laughable. The slow motion runs and the overly intense moments are poked fun at in this trailer. It seems like it will be reminiscent enough for the classic fans, but carry an ample amount of comedy to appease general audiences.
While both Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron are known for their looks, they’ve also proven themselves in comedic roles. Dwayne Johnson more recently starred alongside Kevin Hart in “Central Intelligence.” Zac Efron is more notably known for his role in “Neighbors” and “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising.”
Other cast members include Rob Huebel (“I Love You Man”), rising star Alexandra Daddario (“San Andreas”), and Priyanka Chopra (“Quantico”). We can also expect cameos from classic “Baywatch” cast members. So far the confirmed cameos are Pamela Anderson and the Hoff himself, David Hasselhoff.
