n the first trailer for “Split,” we see M. Night Shyamalan exploring the psychological thriller genre with X-Men Apocalypse’s James McAvoy as the lead. McAvoy turns up the psychological intensity playing a man consumed by his Multiple Personality Disorder and an unknown motive for kidnapping three young girls. 8 Movies I Like But Everyone Else Hates

Gee I can’t imagine what recent events might have brought this up. It got me thinking movies where one’s opinion is wildly different from most others. I think there’s probably a lot you can tell about someone from the movies they like. Some may call them guilty pleasures, but I’ve personally always hated that term as I feel you should never feel guilty about liking what you like… as long as we’re not talking about a snuff film. So join me in pissing away all the goodwill I’ve built up in (almost) my first year since starting to write articles. I thought about adding stuff like “Hook” or “Last Action Hero” but those all have sizable cult followings or fanbases, and I wanted to focus on my more unique choices.

Blu-Ray Review: ‘The Visit’ is Certainly an Odd Movie

“The Visit” is certainly an odd movie. There’s nothing major I can point to and say, “oh I hated that,” but there’s also nothing that makes me say, “there’s the ‘Sixth Sense’ Shyamalan I know and love!” Perhaps not the return to form as so many other reviews have said, but maybe it’s just conformation that it is still possible for a comeback. For most people this will be a love it or hate it kind of movie with few like me being somewhere in the middle. I give it 3 stars out of 5, rent or catch a matinee showing of it.
