Star Wars: The Force Awakens gets Sweded

Star Wars Force Awakens Sweded

Star Wars: The Force Awakens gets a special touch in this “sweded” trailer!

The trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released this past winter but still has everyone talking. There have been parodies but this is the first time that the trailer has been “sweded.”

If you’re unfamiliar with the term “sweded,” it comes from the 2008 Jack Black & Mos Def film Be Kind Rewind. In the film, a video store clerk accidentally erases all of the store’s VHS tapes and they’re forced to re-record the films themselves in a horribly amusing fashion. They reference the films as being “sweded” when they rent them to the customers. Since then the term has taken the internet by storm with “sweded” parodies like the Star Wars trailer below. Check it out!

You have to have a sense of humor to appreciate this trailer. As bad as it may be, it’s intentional and makes the trailer that much more entertaining. The amount of creativity that goes into something like this is amazing given that it is both low budget and almost entirely prop based.

What did you think of the “sweded” version of the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” trailer?
