Margot Robbie Is A Spot On Tonya Harding In ‘I, Tonya’

DC’s Harley Quinn actress Margot Robbie teams up with rival comic company Marvel’s Winter Soldier actor Sebastian Stan for ‘I, Tonya’ biopic.
While audiences learned about Margot Robbie’s involvement in the Tonya Harding biopic project back in Spring of 2016, newly leaked set photos show Robbie in costume and the production well underway. That’s right, the new photos show a seemingly stockier Robbie donning a signature ’90s look as the disgraced Olympic figure skater sporting a heathered blue sweater and high-waisted jeans.
“I, Tonya” is set to center around Tonya Harding’s highly-publicized involvement in the 1994 attack on rival US figure skater Nancy Kerrigan. The biopic will explore the absurdly movie-like and unfortunate tale behind one of Olympic Games figure skating’ most notorious scandals. Joining Margot Robbie is a talented supporting cast, including an unlikely team up with Sebastian Stan, “Bucky” Barnes aka “Winter Soldier” from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Sebastian stan plays Harding’s ex-husband Jeff Gillooly who with the aide of her bodyguard, hires a “hit-man” to break the leg of US Gold Medal hopeful Nancy Kerrigan. In a story far too ludicrous to be fiction, the hit-man attacks the unsuspecting figure skater while on live television during the ’94 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway, making the attack a brutish and bizarre moment to be seen around the world. The biopic is set to focus on the moments leading up to and immediately after the attack.
